Why Halwa, Puri & Chana on Ashtami?

During the nine days of Navratri, many devotees observe a sattvic fast — relying on fruits, milk, nuts, and minimal spices. On Ashtami, the fast is broken with this symbolic trio:

Puri – made from wheat flour, it represents energy and strength, while also aiding digestion.
Chana – rich in protein, it helps restore muscle strength after fasting.
